Sample Preparation
Below you will find some crucial information how to prepare your samples in order to avoid microscope damage.
- Waiting time after mouting the samples
It is strictly forbidden to observe freshly mounted samples on microscopes in the Facility.
Minimal waiting time before observation:
Non-curable mounting medium/buffer + Nail Polish: >16 hrs
Curable medium: >16 hrs
Addition-curing silicone (eg. picodent twinsil): >30 min
If you have doubts, don't hesitate to ask!
- Coverslip placement
Incorrect coverslip placement makes it impossible to reach certain parts of the sample with high-magnification objectives and tilts the sample.
